SPACEnter Space Science and Technology Institute authorized Dongguan Dailywin Watch Co., Ltd. as the sole partner for the development, production, sales and related derivatives of the aerospace series commemorative watches. In the future, the two sides will carry out in-depth cooperation in the fields of product research and development, technology upgrade and material innovation, and seek common development and common growth. The ceremony also released the brand new SAGA Space series commemorative watches, witnessing that SAGA Watch has embarked on a new journey of “space exploration”.

In order to cater to the theme of these brand new aerospace watches, many aerospace-related elements were placed on the event site. Key works of the Dailywin Watch Group since its establishment in 1978 are displayed at the entrance corridor, including the first watch, and the watches under cooperation with Swarovski, which fully demonstrates the development of the Dailywin Watch Group.

At the ceremony, SAGA’s Chief Design Director and international design master Diego Böttger and SAGA’s General Manager LIU Ren explained the different design concepts of these three watches.

 

SAGA Space Series Commemorative Watch, Long March Courage

 

The first SAGA Space series commemorative watch is called Long March Courage. The Long March Courage watch is mainly made of black. The left side of the dial is taking the aerial view of the launch tower of Long March launch vehicles as the prototype, and reappeared the prototype in the form of hollowed-out. The right side represents the moon, which signifies the wonderful connection between human beings on the Earth and the once unreachable space.

 

 SAGA Space Series Commemorative Watch, Tiangong Exploration

Tiangong aerocraft is a major turning point in China’s aerospace industry. Tiangong-2 space laboratory is the second space laboratory independently developed by China after Tiangong-1. It is also the first space laboratory in China in the real sense. It will be used to further verify space rendezvous and docking technology and conduct a series of space experiments. The second SAGA Space series commemorative watch is called Tiangong Exploration. This watch is an extension of the Long March Courage Watch with two different models, one is hollowed-out and the other shows the vast starry sky on the bottom of the watch. Its dial gives you the illusion of really standing on the space station.

The third SAGA Space series commemorative watch is called Shenzhou Pride. Inspiration of the dial comes from the mysterious and beautiful moon. The simple and elegant arc is just like the surface of the moon from which the vastness of the universe could be observed. Interestingly speaking, SAGA Space series watches not only use the aerospace elements in outlook, but also choose materials closely connected with aerospace engineering. SAGA Space series has all been made of high-tech materials in aerospace industry, including a high-strength, high-modulus new fiber material (Carbon Fiber) with a carbon content above 95%; 904L steel with excellent wear and corrosion resistance, as well as aerospace-grade materials such as titanium alloy. Foundation Ceremony of “Culture of Horology and Time Science Museum”

 

As an enterprise regarding social responsibility as the biggest motives of growth, Dailywin Watch Group has been paying great attention to giving back to the society with its strength while rapidly developing its core business. “Culture of Horology and Time Science Museum” is one of them. It is understood that the museum is a scientific venue jointly built by Dailywin Watch Group and the National Time Service Center, CAS, for the purpose of charitable science popularization. The goal is to become a science popularization hot spot in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and to become an important node of “the Belt and Road Time-Space Science and Technology Tourism Base”.

 

Foundation ceremony of “Culture of Horology and Time Science Museum” was also held on that day. This charity project was strongly supported by government leaders and many experts and scholars. At the ceremony, Eddie Leung, Chairman of SAGA Watch, and LIU Ren, General Manager of SAGA Watch, respectively issued Letter of Appointment of Expert/Consultant to these experts and scholars (List attached on the last page).

 

Eddie Leung said: “The ‘Culture of Horology and Time Science Museum’ covers an area of about 2,000-3,000 m². In addition to the field of time science, it also covers watch culture, time science, watch development and watch design. It is an important base for public science education.
