VI.     Appearance protection and watch maintenance

1.    The case, crystal and bracelet are important parts of the watch’s appearance, and their damage directly affects the aesthetics of the watch and affects the normal operation of the watch. The materials of watch crystals are divided into mineral glass, ordinary glass, sapphire glass and the like. The materials of the case and bracelet are common plastic, copper, stainless steel, high-tech ceramics, leather, tungsten-titanium alloy, gold, platinum, titanium, and the like.

2.    Among these materials, sapphire glass, tungsten-titanium alloy, and high-tech ceramics have high hardness and are not easily worn. But it is not without damage, and the watch must not be severely impacted or dropped to the ground. Substances with the same or higher hardness, such as diamonds and quartz crystals, may damage these materials. Magic stone, sandpaper, nail file, granite surface, concrete wall, floor, etc. contain the above substances, and the watch should be prevented from contacting with such items or surfaces.

3.    For the leather bracelet made of relatively soft materials, you need be more careful. In order to keep the leather bracelet of the watch durable, it is recommended that customers: A Avoid contacting with water or moisture to prevent discoloration or distortion. B Avoid long-term exposure to the sun to prevent fading. C Because the leather is easy to penetrate, it must be prevented from contacting with greasy substances or cosmetics.

4.    Avoid direct contact with organic solvents (e.g.: Cleaners, perfumes, cosmetics, etc.), as these may corrode the bracelet, case and waterproof ring. Regularly clean the case and bracelet with a soft cloth to prevent corrosion caused by sweat. The waterproof watch can be cleaned with a toothbrush and soapy water and dried with a soft cloth. After wearing the watch in sea water, it must be rinsed with mild fresh water and then wiped dry.

5.    Watches should be prevented from contacting with the chemicals. Otherwise, they should be cleaned in time to avoid discoloration, peeling and any change in waterproofing.

6.    For new watches, the protective film on the back cover should be peeled off, otherwise the sweat will remain in the middle, causing corrosion to the cover

If the glass scratches, the case is bumped, the back cover is scratched, the crown is slanted, the diamond is broken and peeling, etc. due to any reasons after the sale, they belong to the problem of usage, not covered by normal warranty, but if the dial scale is not uniform due to non-use performance, the case is asymmetrical, etc., it is a manufacturing defect, which is covered by the warranty and replacement.

Q: How long is the service life of this watch?

A: The service life of a watch has a lot to do with the wearing and maintenance. When wearing it, it should be prevented from collision, falling and water entry and regularly maintained by a professional repair station.

Q: How often should the watch be maintained?

A: A watch is a precision instrument. In the case of proper operation and reasonable maintenance, it may be maintained every two to three years. It is mainly to check if the waterproof rubber ring of the watch is aging. If yes, it needs to be replaced immediately. Also, it needs to check the mechanical watch’s parameters such as the swing, beat, and time difference of the movement meet the standards. Quartz watches can be easily maintained when the battery is replaced.
