VIII. Antimagnetic problem

1.    The watch should be kept away from the magnetic field, such as electrical appliances that generate magnetic fields (audio, refrigerators, computers, etc.), magnetic objects (such as magnets, mobile phones), women’s handbags with magnetic buckles, and men’s mobile phone cover with magnetic buckles, which may cause the watch to be magnetized, causing the watch to be inaccurate or temporarily stopped.

2.    The main reason why attention should be paid to keeping the watch away from the magnetic field is that the most important inner part of mechanical watch is the balance spring. The spring is very thin. If it is magnetized, the timing of the watch will not be accurate.

Q: Why is an antimagnetic watch also magnetized?

A: Nothing is absolute. When the surrounding magnetic field is too strong and exceeds the anti-magnetic ability of the watch itself, the watch will still be affected.

Q: Why does the magnetic field have an effect on a quartz watch?

A: Quartz watches vary in battery life from 1-2 years depending on the movement and usage. The high-grade three-hand quartz watch has a battery exhausting prompt function, and if the second hand jumps abnormally, that is, every four seconds, it reminds that the battery needs to be replaced. If the battery is not replaced in time, the battery may leak and damage the internal parts of the watch.
